What makes you, you? Is it your unique blend of physical traits: eye color, skin tone, height, and hair length? The sound of your voice? Is it your upbringing: birth order and parents and childhood experiences? Is it your skills and abilities and what you’ve done with them? Certainly, all of these are important. But who you are is more than your likes and dislikes, successes and failures, shifting emotions, and ongoing habits. Who you are is more than your preferences for food and music and people and lovers. Your identity is more significant than your feelings and greater than the good and bad things others say about you. And your identity is definitely more than your name and social security number.
You are a unique combination of personality and physicality, shaped by your DNA, the experiences you’ve had, and the choices you’ve made. But you are so much more than your biology, psychology, and sociology. Your truest identity is the you God created you to be. To live well and experience the fullness of life God desires for us begins with understanding how our true identity is found in our relationship with God. That’s what we’ll be exploring in True You. We hope you’ll join us each week of this series at 9:30 or 11:00 am, in person or online, to discover your True You.
